Ive been away from stocks and shares for a number of years but now Ive finallygot a bit of spare cash I want to starting selecting my own companies to invest in.
What are the best self select ISA's, ( I cant find anything on this site regarding self selects).
Any informative links on self selects in general, please post.
Also, if anyone knows, can AIM listed companies be place in a self select ISA?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
Cheapest is not always the best, when deciding to choose a stockbroker.
Some stockbrokers. like T D Waterhouse rip you off by paying very low interest rate on cash held in Individual Savings Accounts and Personal Equity Plans Self Select - ISA - PEP
Refer here :
T D Waterhouse & others cheating us on Interest Rates on self select PEPs and ISAs
or

You may like to try this link at FT which will do a search for you. However it does not seem to cover all the stockbrokers :

Alternative investment market shares - AIM are not qualifying shares for ISA or PEP.
AIM shares have different tax concessions and conditions. Refer to search here :
http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=alternative+investment+market+tax+shares&btnG=Google+Search&meta=
Also you have to decide whether you really need a self select ISA as the Chancellor has watered down the tax advantages. For example tax on dividend can't be reclaimed. Interest on Cash is taxed etc.
Main benefit is for Higher tax payer and those making capital gains of more than around £ 9200 p.a - 2006-7 :
Refer Here :

Also more detail rules and info for ISAs here :

Good luck

Who's best depends in part on what you want to do, and how often you trade. I like Selftrade - good customer service, reasonably clued-up staff, fair prices. Also, if anyone knows, can AIM listed companies be place in a self select ISA?0
