I take it you can get free broadband with their £15 TV package?
Do you need to pay BT line rental on top?

Im thinking of switching to sky broadband (the £10 package) but am trying to find out more info first regarding its quality. So far I've only found negative comments from last year on the internet, does anyone have any recent experience of them?0

Pretty much doom and gloom i'm afraid, but you pay nuts, you get monkeys.

To be honest I've had no problems whatsoever, I have the £5 package & get 7MB download( approx 1km from exchange). I've spent months in the past sorting other people's problems with TT & Tiscali etc. This is why I decided to keep BT line as my carrier.
My Modem arrived within days of ordering & 14 day wait for activation.
Didn't use the enclosed CD. Just plugged in filters & away I went.
I use a wired & wireless connection both are excellent
Also the skytalk was set up without problems.0 -
I've been with them a week, the BB's fine, but if you have a problem with the wireless router and need to speak with the goons on tech support (I've been told it's in Indonesia) then god help you!!!!
There's an issue with the wireless router they supply, google sky router problems! They also don't tell you your username and password to configure your own router.
I'm leaving them while i'm still within 8 days of go live!!!

OHs mum has it and has had no problems atall, so am now looking at going over to it ourself. We set hers up and found it incredibly easy to do. But the chances are we will use our existing router and just change the ISP details.Green and White Barmy Army!0

I was told by SKY a few days ago that you must use the router they supply and not your own.I'm the only gay in this forum

Sky's Terms & Conditions say that you must use the router supplied but some people are doing otherwise and using their own router after extracting the necessary info from Sky's router. Given that every single other ISP in the country gives you your login and password freely, I very much doubt Sky could successfully prosecute someone for not using Sky's router. If Sky ever took someone to court for this, I think Mr Justice Jones would probably say something along the lines of:
'Sky, your wish to cut down on technical enquiries by having all your customers using the same equipment cannot and should not be to the detriment of one of the most basic rights a human being has, freedom of choice. In trying to dictate how people should connect to your service, you, Sky, have gone beyond what your status as a provider entitles you to. I therefore declare the defendant not guilty on the count of using their own router'The true cost of something is what you give up to get it.0
