I disagree with not giving your number. When I deal with vulnerable customers off supply I call to make sure they are okay and put them on a priority register. This also goes to the local distribution and gas transporter companies in case of outages so they too can check on the people off supply and give them additional help.

Even though I provided meter readings every month with NP they still get hounding me. This is why I decided to switch.
They wouldn't be able to do this if they didn't have your number. As for them contacting you in the event of "emergency", they can write to you - or if it IS an emergency they can call round.0 -
