Hello,
I applied for Tesco CC on Sunday and they said they might be able to give me a card.
They asked me to send in proof of ID- where can I get free certification? Or can I send originals- I can send of my DL if necessary
Am I likely to get it? Btw they quoted 21.9% APR and 550 limit
Are they a good people to have CC with?

yes likely are toDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

In my experience, if a card company asks you for proof of ID once you have applied then it usually means that you will be accepted once you have satisfied their requests. They will have already credit scored you and if they intended to turn you down flat they would have done so.
They should have given you instructions as to who can certify copies of documents, most of whom will charge a fee. I'd stear clear of any professionals (solicitors, notaries etc as they will probably charge quite a bit). I believe the post office will do it for a nominal fee or if you happen to know a police officer or HMRC officer then I believe they can do it. I've always thought about approaching a jolly looking policeman and asking if he would be willing to do it but I've never actually done it in the end. No doubt there will be some regulation nowadays that means they're not allowed to.0 -

That makes sense, I guess it wouldn't make sense to do all this without giving me the card!
I have to send it in original bank statement anyway so I'llsee what happens0 -

Perhaps this is a good time to ask yourself whether you really need a credit card at this time....
Many who get one often wish years down the line that they had not. Unless you are planning to buy a large item which makes use of the purchase protection offered by credit cards, there really isnt any reason to have one at all. We used to get by just fine without them.Debt Free! Long road, but we did it

I had no interest in using it to buy thing I couldn't afford- I was looking forward to a long 0% offer and lots of clubcard points but thanks for your concern!0 -
Have you tried your own bank - they will probably give you card with a modest limit and will probably have a 0% offer.iAMaLONDONER wrote: »I had no interest in using it to buy thing I couldn't afford- I was looking forward to a long 0% offer and lots of clubcard points but thanks for your concern! This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
