My sister was going to go there (before it came on watchdog) but the guy was so rude on the phone which put her off. Lucky escape!

I saw this. Couldn't believe the sheer cheek of them. As if weddings aren't stressful enough. Hope they got sued for ripping off other people's designs at the very least!!

    I saw it too.

The "made-to-measure" "unique design" dress was an appalling fit and for it to have a size label really let the cat out of the bag.

    Hi OP,

Have you considered posting this on the Weddings board? I think it might be useful reading for some people over there...

And possibly the Praise, Vent & Warnings board too.

I think the more bad press this pair get, the better.

I don't think any of us needed Elizabeth Emanuel to tell us that if a dress had a Size 8 label sewn into it that it couldn't possibly be a bespoke made-to-measure one. They probably order them from China at £100 each or less.

And I sincerely hope that they have their knuckles rapped for copyright infringement, but as they don't actually make the dresses themselves and just order from overseas, I suspect this may be difficult.

Still, after featuring on the prog, I hope they have to find an alternative means of supporting themselves.

I actually bought my dress from that shop and it was an incredibly stressful experience. The first dress they made was 7 inches too small in the back and they accused me of putting weight on (my weight has not shifted in the last 20 years almost).

Four months later they had made another which, to be fair, fitted perfectly other than it needed shortening by an inch. They had previously told me a price for alterations, which then was increased 250% due to 'inflation'. I refused to pay it and eventually they agreed to do it at the price they first quoted. I had various other issues with appointment times and things as well.

When you collect your dress you have to sign a form that states any derogatory online review will be dealt with by their solicitors!!! Says it all really. So glad they've been exposed as it was a very, very stressful experience.

i was unfortunate to be ripped off also from amazing brides, i ordered a dress and paid 500 deposit, a few weeks later i went to wedding dress studio with a friend who was also getting married and i saw my dress i was told was made for me and couldnt be bought anywhere else, needless to say was a copy of a designer dress, neither of these shops tell you that they are owned by the same people, when i approached amazing brides for a refund i was told that i couldnt have one, [Removed by ForumTeam] was very nasty and in no uncertain terms that if i didnt pay the remainder i was be sued, well i didnt pay and would have fought all the way if she had of done, so glad watchdog have exposed both these shops for what they are, scammers with cheap copy dresses at designer prices who will totally ruin your day, beware dont shop at either
