Orange panther 10.5
Hi there,I recently changed my pay monthly contract to orange panther 10.5 as I didn't want to get a new phone, just a cheaper deal.
I went through one of the mobile high street stores and their contract clearly states this package.
However, two days ago I got a letter from orange confirming my new panther 15.5 contract.
Can anyone see any reason for this, and do you think I can get out of this contract? I signed up on 24th April.
Any help would be much appreciated

I have a vague feeling I saw another thread like this once, and it turned out that the poster had been given a better package but on a discounted deal, so the monthly cost was what they expected.0

You'll be on a £15.50 deal, discounted to £10.50. The letter always shows the standard prices.I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0

Hi
I did the same at the end of March when my contract was about to end. I had actually phoned them up to leave but they convinced me to stay as, at £10.50, it was only 50p more than another deal I'd found elsewhere and it'd save me having to move etc.
The £5 off will show as a promotional discount taking it down to £10.50. However, my most recent bill has risen to £11. I know it's only 50p a month but I never received a letter giving me notice of the rise. I did receive a letter outlining the details of my new contract and I noticed it said "Panther 15.50 £16 a month" but I assumed it'd stick at £10.50 considering the £5 discount didn't show on it.
I phoned them up earlier and the woman just said they can increase the prices mid-contract (which I told her I understood) but I couldn't be bothered arguing over 50p. It's just the principle of it - they convinced me to stay and end up not keeping their promise.
Also, I noticed on the letter outlining the details of my new contract, it said "discounts - £120 credit promotion". I asked the lady on the phone and she didn't have a clue what it was. She suggested it was the £5 discount I'm getting per month but I pointed out £120 would make it £10 a month so she just said "aw as long as it has a negative sign or the word 'discount' next to it you know it's good" so I have no clue what it is. Any ideas?
Sorry for the huge ranting post but I just get so annoyed when I come off the phone to Orange. I've had a few problems since I renewed my contract (they even convinced me to add my brother's phone on at £8 per month) and everytime I phone, they say a different thing.0 -

5x24= £120...
Also Orange and other networks can raise their prices at any time unfortunately. It's unfair to the consumer but orange's official stance is "deal with it".0 -

It's a 12 month contract so it would work out at £10 a month.
I'm just annoyed they didn't actually tell me that there'd be a price rise. At least it's only 12 months cause I know I won't be remaining with them!0 -

In that case i have no idea. Orange have been using an ancient billing system for some time now so no wonder it's not clear. I don't think it's been updated for at least a decade.
You should have been notified about the price increase as well.0
