Freehold House - Grounds Maintenance Contract

Hello All,
Please could you help with some advice. We moved into our house in 2007 (mortgaged - Freehold) and was told there will be an Annual Service charge for Shared Grounds Maintenance around £60.00.
This shared ground is a small area approx less than a 1/4 of a Football Pitch in size. There are 63 units (houses) now paying £130.00 a year (£8k).
Honestly I think this cost is ridiculous for the amount of work we see them do.
What I would like to know is how long are we legally obliged to honour the contract?
Is there any information / laws / acts that I need to be aware of?
Many Thanks for your time
Gavin

You will need to find out who the factor is and get hold of the contract.
Do you want to take it on? In situations like this if you stick your head above the parapet you might get it shot off!
Depending on what has to be done it could be quite cheap a decent gardener would cost more than that a year.0 -
This would be better asked on the property board.0
