I am in the 3rd year (by 3 months) of a monthly tariff with 3, Video&Talk&Text 350 @ £25 per month.
The first 18 months were effectively free because of cashback etc.
However the trouble is that now I nowhere near use my talk and text allowances, and I am sure I would be far better off financially on PAYG.
How do I swap over? Would I have to mess about with sim cards and unlocking etc? The model is LGU880.
Any advice/comments on the best way to proceed would be much appreciated. TIA.

As far as I am aware if you have completed your contract period then you can:
1) either ask '3' to switch you to PAYG (after haggling a good deal (ofcourse)
2) or you can just buy a PAYG from another company and portyour number, but this will involve changing the sim card.
I hope I have answered your question. However, what I would recommend you is that you ask '3' to renew your contract with whatever minutes/texts you think you need and without a phone and they can do it for as little as £2/month. One of my mates managed that with T-mobile so I am sure '3' would be happy to offer you the same.0
