Hi Can anyone help all of a sudden my phone contacts has stopped working in my phone and i get the message:-
the application People ( process com. android.htccontacts) has stopped unexpectedly. please try again.
I cannot access any of the contact numbers for anyone, unless they have called me and are in my recent calls,

I would clear the data for the contacts app (via Settings => Applications) and see if that helps you.
If you haven't got your contacts saved someplace else (the likely place is Google Contacts, check http://www.google.com/contacts) they will go bye bye though.0 -
Thanks RUSTY, how would i have saved them to google, ive looked and theres only one in there, dont know how i did it.0

You can choose where you keep them, but it seems HTC's don't use Google by default; shame on them.
Grab yourself a contacts backup app from the Play Store, clear the contact apps data then restore them.0 -
How do i restore them now ive downloaded an app?0

cleared my contacts and its still happening so cant even use app! wont w
let me add contacts as it keeps crashing! any ideas0 -
Are you using a non standard rom?
You have a corrupt file so you have either downloaded or installed something which has caused this corruption probably unknowingly!
I would suggest you try a hard reset (this will delete everything on the phone and reset everything to factory defaults) and if you search Google for “wildfire hard reset” there are numerous sites showing how you can do this.
If this doesn't work you may need to consider re-flashing the OS which is slightly more complicated.0
