phones broke but still paying contract
hello, my daughter has taken out a 24month contract with orange through the car phone warhouse with a samsung s3. 3 months into the contract she has dropped it in water so its stopped working. she sent it back to CPW who have sent it away but its been returned saying its unrepairable. stupidly she has not taken out insurance. now it looks like she'll be paying a large monthly contract and no phone. we've got to go down on saturday to see whats what. where does she stand on this? thanks.

As has been mentioned on MSE many times, the phone and contract are separate. Even if the phone brakes and cannot be repaired, you still have to pay the airtime contract.
Orange would have already provided a top of the range phone at a subsidised price.
Your Daughter will still be able to use her SIM in an alternative phone. There are plenty of cheap handsets available and she will still be able to call and text.0 -
She will have to buy another phone - as Ann S says, the contract is separate to the phone.0

Orange has a PAYG sale at the moment, she might want to look there for a cheap replacement.0
