Do I need to inform private landlord about new baby?

We have been renting our house from a private landlord through an agency since last August. We already have 2 children but have a new baby due next month. We don't hear from the landlord as he now lives a long way away and apart from an inspection in January we don't tend to see the agent, so it's not come up in conversation. But it's just dawned on me - am I obliged to tell them about the new baby?
If its relevant, the house was the landlords family home for many years, so not an investment let.
Thanks

As long as it's not likely to cause an overcrowding issue then I don't think there's any obligation to tell the LL or LA. If they were doing regular inspections they would have seen for themselves that you were expecting a newcomer :-). If you keep paying your rent and don't demolish the house then I can't imagine the LL would have a problem with it.0

Nothing to add to previous comments - other than congratulations!

Many thanks!
Last inspection I was barely showing but at our next inspection I'm sure they'll spot the screaming baby so that will do the job!
It's not that I fear they'll have an issue, I just wanted to check it wasn't something I should be proactive on.
Thanks for your responses.0 -
Sorry- I have to disagree with the replies above.
Not only should you inform the LL of the additional oocupant of the property, but you should have sought permission, in writing, in advance.
This means before conception.
Indeed, since no form of contraceptive is 100% reliable, you should seek written consent before undertaking any activity that could potentially result in an additional occupant.0 -

Do you claim droit du seigneur for your property Kingdom?:D;)
(Maybe I should suggest if you do need to contact the LL, send a French letter) :whistle:0 -

Surely it was the job of the grandparents to have told the LL that they were going to have kids that were going to have kids about 25 years prior to the start of the tenancyIt's someone else's fault.0 -
Surely OP should do whatever the contract says they should do?0
