I take issue with this comment. We came here to see what help we could get in this unpleasant situation. Judging posters attitudes to things like "the law" when you know very little about the fuller context of their lives and their conduct in other important areas is a massive call to make. This is not the time for it and to be honest if you don't want to help or can't, then just let those who can make the effort.

    The bottom line is that
    1. People aren't perfect and
    2. The world is most certainly not perfect. Even our laws aren't perfect.

Things happen. People come here to get help and advice so they can help themselves

    By all means take issue!

The fact that I was responding to comments made by another poster altogether seems to have escaped the OP?

Plus, I took care to use the description 'displayed'.......which in itself shows an observation, not a judgement, based on the face-value of information supplied.

What I will add is, the attitude I noted, is more commonplace than we imagine.

But, perhaps the OP should look to what they themselves have posted?
a few notices were then sent to my relative in the name of my friend which my friend (the driver at the time) apparently did not respond to.
My friend insists he was not guilty of the speeding offence and suggested that something may have been wrong with the camera that awarded the ticket.

Well, I'm tempted to say ''they all say that, don't they?''

As I said, an observation, not a judgement, based on information supplied..and responding to another poster's comments.

So, no apology will be forthcoming......and I suspect, if the situation continues as described, an Arrest Warrant may well be on the cards?
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......

''Due diligence'' has to be shown for that defence.
"Reasonable diligence" if you want to be picky. But the point is that it's quite wrong to say "there are no if's or but's" - clearly there are.
