    Congratulations!

    Having been in debt myself for about 16 years, I finally became debt free a year ago and I still am.
    I wouldn't say I feel any better for it as such but definitely look at my spending from a different point of view now.
    Credit card is long gone and I constantly check my bank account to see if the money is there for any purchase other than the norm. If the money is not in my bank account or if I see that I'll be running short before payday, then I just don't buy anything that's not necessary.
    The major difference however is that my savings are now in five figures rather than two :)
