Problem with Nokia 700

I've had a Nokia 700 for nearly a year and it's OK for my needs. I rarely use the internet on the phone and have not downloaded any apps (mainly 'cos I don't understand what they are!) and use it primarily for texts, calls, photos and some videos. I have been able to transfer to my PC via Nokia Suite and everything has been fine. However......
For just over a week I have noticed that my charge is only lasting a very short while. This is unusual as previously it has always been pretty good, only needing a top up charge once a week or so. But, when I turned it back on today (after it had again 'died' of lack of charge) I got the following message:
Memory full, delete or move some data from E:Mass memory
This concerns me as I don't know what to do and I'm afraid to say I'm not very technical. I don't have a book for the phone and although I found a download online for the Nokia 700 my laptop won't let me download it for some reason.
If anybody knows the reason for my lack of charge and/or this memory message I'd be really pleased to receive any help.
Thank you, David
