unlocking nokia 3410 cannt get IMEI no.

hi i have a nokia 3410 on a virgin sim card thou i think it was orginally on a vodaphone sim i want too unlock it too use an o2 sim

iv tried too get the IMEI number by dialing #06# but all i get is a scrolling progress bar saying "requesting" then after a few seconds it times out and says "request not complete" there is 15 digit number underneath the battery that iv tried too use on one of the free sites listed here too get the unlock code but it didnt work (the number is 351484/20/727892/1 i tried it without the backslashs as that was what the site said too do

can anyone help? cheers

The label should be correct

The code would be *#06#, so you missed the *

But if you've already swapped SIM once, the unlock is actually permanent and you shouldn't need to do anything else - so just try the other SIM in there

If that SIM doesn't work, then presumably the phone is still locked and must have been on Virgin all the time

If you still have problems, post in the sticky thread at the top of the board about unlocking Nokias, and someone can work out the code for you

thanks for the reply ur right cannt beleive i was daft enuff too miss out the * but tried and it worked but i got a differnet number from the one on the back off the fone so i'll try that thanks again

sounds like either the phone was stolen and the IMEI reprogrammed (which is illegal), or the phone has had a housing change and the IMEI sticker wasnt changed.

thanks again for the replies the fone isnt stolen iv had it since new (thou i cannt mind if it ever was on vodafone maybe it always was on virgin)
iv double checked and it sems i was mistaken the IMEI from *#06# is the same as under the battery (351484207278921)

if it already works on virgin and vodafone then it is already unlocked so will also work on o2
