I was just in the process of doing this in the new library and it started copying the files across before I could. When I checked after there was no tick in the box

Every time I create a new library it just copies the music files across. There are no ticks in any of the libraries

Hmm, does your wife stay logged in to her itunes store acct within itunes the programme (if that makes sense)? If som try logging out of itunes store and closing itunes before trying it again. May or may not fix it.....
