what advanced driving course to take?

Don't do it just for the insurance discount!
It's no longer competitive (ie you get cheaper insurance elsewhere anyway without the advanced driving qualification)
Isn't there a possible scenario whereby the cheapest company (from a price comparison site) also offers a discount for advanced drivers?
In choosing a course maybe worth thinking about how involved the police are with the local group, eg some ROSPA meetings seem to happen on police premises. Presumably police officers have some input, and obviously they are 'the' experts on advanced driving. (I think assessors for ROSPA and IAM all hold police driving certs).0
