Engineers are installing Sky on Monday. Normal Sky. Package includes the sports package.

However Sky would not allow me get Sky+ as I only have one SAT port in the flat.

The Panasonic PVR you use, is that a freeview PVR?

Can't understand why, they installed in for me. Make a complaint and say you are considering cancellation - that seems to get their attention :rotfl:

My Panasonic is a stand alone PVR, wired so that I can record from either my Sky box or from TV ariel. I don't need a free view box as my TV is digital.

I hope you are not paying £60 for the installation?

You probably can't afford this solution to use your PC as a PVR but it's technically interesting: http://www.cielplus.com

No. Free installation as its a standard sky package.

Presuming I accept the standard sky system at the moment.

Is there any technical expertise required to upgrade to Sky+ at a later time?

Upgrade to Sky plus is simply disconnect one box and connect another, however you need sky+ remote and subscription to use it.
