    The A5 birth certificate will be accepted for you as you were born before 1983.

    but as it is not me applying for a passport... but it is my daughter am I right in saying I need to get her a copy of a A4 size birth certificate of mine from the registraras as they wont accept my original a5 one ?

    No your short birth certificate will do. She must submit her FULL birth certificate - the ones with the parents names on it.

    great thanks for confirming that..one more question if you don't mind ! so I let her send my short birth certificate in and because she's sending mine in ,,, and her full a4 certificate, she doesn't need to send in my marriage certificate or my husbands birth certificate ? basically all she needs is my birth certificate and her own birth certificate ?

    No need for your husband's as your daughter will get her nationality through you.. Enclose your marriage certificate to show your change of name
