british passport application

hi I am a british born citizen still and always lived in the uk
I am going to apply for a passport I have the form but find it a little confusing
I was born in uk in the [EMAIL="60@s"]60's[/EMAIL] and have lived here ever since
my question is on the form it says regarding sending my parents birth certificates ?and there marriage certificates ? have I got this wrong or am I reading this wrong on the form ??
I have my own birth certificate to send ?
can anyone please advise

    It says if you were born after 1982,the little booklet that comes with it explains what bits should be filled in.

    Part of the Furniture 500 Posts Photogenic Name Dropper
    You complete section 1,2.3,4 and 9, get section 10 countersigned and submit the form with your birth certificate. If you name is different from your birth name you will have to submit documents showing this. You do not need you parents birth certificate as you are a British Citizen by birth. Anyone born after 31/12/1982 must submit proof of their parents nationality.

    sorry I feel stupid asking but its so confusing
    but if my daughter applies for her 1st passport.. she was born in uk 1990 always been a uk resident .. does she only have to send her birth certificate in with her form or does she have to send mine and my husbands birth certificate in with her form also as in the form it says something about parents birth certificates?

    If you have a passport, you do not need to submit any other documents other than her Full Birth Certificate, just enter your passport number at section 4. If not, you will have to send your birth certificate.

    thanks my original birth certificate is NOT a a4 size as I was born in 1964 it is a small a5 size is this the one she needs to send with her application form ? as someone said it needs to be A4 size ?

    The A4 certificate contains more information than the smaller one - information that may be needed to establish your eligibility for the passport

    Sounds like your parents didn't shell out for the full certificate.

    They don't accept the shortened version but you can get a copy of the full size from the registrar
