I agree with everyone else, you need to do what makes you feel best.

I also loathe those adverts. Another one I think about heart disease? has gone along the same lines and I think it almost makes light of the illnesses. Like suddenly now these diseases are going to cowering away somewhere...

You are the only one who can decide whether you'll cove it or not. Remember, confidence is what you always need to wear to face challenges in our daily lives. :)

I agree with the posters who say that you've got to do whatever's most comfortable, considering all the other discomforts you're going through. The people you work with are old enough to know better.

I lost my hair as a teenager (not all over but I have more bald patches than hair) and it's never really grown back. I now work with teenagers and wear a wig, probably because I started out that way - it happened at the age when I was most self-conscious. It's a different situation to yours, obviously. I just feel it avoids drawing casual observers' attention to me but there's little point in not being upfront about it with people I see every day. It wasn't always easy but the teenagers I work with now are ok about it and, if not, can be embarassed in to revising their opinions PDQ :) You get used to the itching eventually but it took me years!

If where you work is anything like where I work, make sure you have something to cover your head in case it gets colder unexpectedly or in case you're unexpectedly in sunlight (my mum hated being in sunlight during her treatment). I've got scarves for winter, and for summer, ones that protect against UV light that make more of a difference than I thought.

    Best wishes for your recovery.

Yes, there will probably be the odd one or two who do make fun, there are horrible people everywhere-but overall I don't think you'd have problems from the students.

Those kind of people would find something to make fun about anyway - whether you have your own hair, wear a wig, or go bald. They just do.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Thanks all. I was in town today and actually felt my stubble ripple in the wind. Really odd!:rotfl:

I think I'll just keep a hat for when I'm walking in to work if its chilly, with a scarf in my bag for colder days. My head is now fairly brown as I've been exposing it to the sun with smaller sun factors. It was soooo white at first.

Another no vote for those ridiculous adverts as well! I'm going to do the Race for Life next year, but not for their reasons. Lol.
