Hi all.
We have gained a resident mole in our garden. Can anyone advise if it is our responsibility as tenants or the LL's responsibility to deal with it?
Cheers!

The only way to deal with a mole is to kill it! Is that what you want?0

The best way to get rid of them is to bury them alive0

Would you get a Landlord to swot a wasp? Honestly sometimes tenants.......................................Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0

No I don't want to cause it harm at all. If it was my garden i would let it be unless they dug up the whole of the lawn. But it is causing damage to the property which I obviously can't ignore under the conditions of the tenancy agreement and my responsibility as a tenant.0 -
leave it alone, it will be fineBlackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0

Thanks for that. I wasn't suggesting it was the landlords job to do it, I was merely asking a question. I actually hate bothering the LL with trivial items but then I suppose you would have had a witty response whichever way.0 -
It will move on - mole mating time at the moment and its setting up a territory and looking for love! We had one a few years ago - lawn looked a mess for a few weeks afterwards, but now you wouldn't know it had been there.
Tell the LL and ask whether they want it dealt with. If you are happy to live with it, and he is not bothered, let nature take its course. If you/he wants it gone, then only option is trap or poison.
You can buy sonic deterrant devices and some people suggest sticking kids windmills in the hills as the vibrations will drive them out, but I have never seen any proof this works.0 -

In which case maybe you should have said 'out of courtesy should I drop a note to the Landlord'. I'm sorry if it sounded abrupt but as a LL of quite a few properties it can get rather annoying when certain tenants can't even tighten a screw without picking the phone up.Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -
Not worth 'dealing' with.
But let the LL know just so there's no surprise when the tenancy ends and he sees the damage to the lawn.0
