Not been spammed as such, but I am signed up to a paid survey site and was recently paid £1 to take a survey on my political views.
Call me paranoid, but I was slightly suspicious when the 'statements' about each party's policies were very positive for one particular party and not so positive for others.
i.e.
did you know about party Y's manifesto pledge to give free cholocate to eveyone?
did you know about party Z's plan to make everyone eat sprouts?
Marketing by the back door?

:j Party Y have got my vote then.
When do I get my choccies? :rotfl:I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -
Surely this is illegal under the anti-spam laws introduced over a year ago. Fortunately I have not been hit... yet.
Although I have placed my bin next to my letter box to catch the party political letters.
Interestingly, despite being registered with the Mail Preference Service for about 5 years, I received today a letter from the Lib Dems addressed directly to me. And I have received Tory and Labour letters via the Royal Mail Door-to-door delivery service (unaddressed mail delivered by postman) despite being registered with the Royal Mail to stop this.
I'm hoping that some of the candidates come to visit so I can give them a piece of my mind!
And I agree - I'll be voting for Party Y in the election. Best policy I've heard so far!0 -
I haven't been spammed, but we've had 2 unsolicited phone calls so far from the Labour Party, despite being registered with the Telephone Preference Service, which I *thought* stopped you from getting unsolicited calls *scratches head*
I think they're getting desperate!! (we live in a marginal).I :heart2: Boots

We received a call from the labour party and are registered with the TPS. My husband went ballistic. I had to walk out of the room as I ended up feeling sorry for the caller who was blustering that she wasn't selling anything. He was so incensed that he told her she was selling her party and even if he had been going to vote labour he no longer was (he has actually been a lifelong Tory). After carrying on at her for about 15 minutes - she was remarkably polite by all accounts, I'd have put the phone down on him, he ended the call and then immediately wrote complaining to the TPS and to the Labour party including our local MP.0

PS. My husband tells me he actually also complained to the Information Commissioner at ico.gov.uk. He had a letter in reply saying they were looking into it. The IC is actually the one above Off Comm I believe so the more complaints he gets the better! Linda0

Think we must both be members of same survey site, I sent them an e-mail asking for an explanation, strangely they haven't replied; just like New Labour.
I think I might even support them if they could just tell the truth about anything.Just for one moment, thought I'd found my way.0 -
is that yougov? they're really busy at the moment, i must have answered 2 or 3 surveys a week in the last couple of weeks, same questions every time it seems though. i've seen the yougov surveys quoted by the daily mail regularly, sometimes i read it at the inlaws when i'm bored, i don't get it daily so couldn't say if they quote yougov every day or it's just a fluke that every time i read the DM it quotes a poll i answered lol!52% tight0

oh, about the electioneering, we're getting personalised letters from the labour party, around one every 2 or 3 weeks in the last 6 months, addressed to my husband who has never voted and isn't registered with the yougov survey site. we don't know where they got his address from, it's our local MP's office writing to him. and yes we are registered with TSP, MSP etc. labour have also knocked on the door. we've had 2 tory leaflets but they've been unaddressed, the postie has put them through with the mail.
our labour MP never writes to me, all i've had is one from tony's office. i've written to the MP though, and done the fax thing, sent him standard letters, questions, etc. from the RSPCA, oxfam, etc. so why is he ignoring me yet writing to hubby?52% tight0 -
I only got one Nigerian fraudster and 2 lotteries in the last 18 months, total of 8 spam messages in 2 years, so I'm not expecting anything0
