Hi this is my first post!
My contract is up for renewal soon and I phoned Three to see what deals they have got, I come off the phone and looking at a few on Carphone Warehouse website but on the Three network, the deals was better on the website...so I phoned Three and asked if they did price matching, three then asked me where I had seen the deal...I told him and he said not to go to Carphone Warehouse because its never how it seams and that prices go higher with out telling you, also I was told that "The One Plan" didn't have tethering and only had 2gb of data if I went to get my contract from Carphone Warehouse he also told me that the only way you can get 4G when it's out in October is if you upgrade today and through me (Indian Phone Sale Team).
What I want to know is:
-Do Three only offer 4G (when active) through there sales team?
- is Carphone Warehouse only give you half baked plans?
- how can Carphone Warehouse be cheaper than the actual network?
Thanks in advance x

You need to ask Carphone if there's any difference between the tariff they offer and the one Three offer. Generally there's no difference and the One Plan is the same wherever you sign up.
3rd part retailers use their own phones and are paid a fee by the networks for connecting customers. They can choose to lose out on money for the handset and often try to make money through other services.
I think what the guy told you was a load of sales bull. I'm sure 4g will be available to other Three customers that he hasn't dealt with.0 -

This is a common thing with network retention teams. They will lie and lie and lie to you just to get commission from you signing up through them on the phone.
He's made everything that he said up.
As long as you're looking at the same tariff from CPW there is no difference at all. It's cheaper through CPW because they get paid a huge commission by three to sell their contracts.
Go through CPW.0 -
Three will be giving 4g to every customer for free, regardless of where the acquired them from... The one plan is also the same across the resellers.
The three sales people will say anything to earn their commission, so take anything they say with a large pinch of salt, also get any deals confirmed in writing or by email before you agree to it.
But a reseller will likely be cheaper, also carphonewarehouse are usually more expencive than say buymobilephones or affordable mobiles etc0 -
Couple of points to watch out for...
1. The market is very volatile at the moment, 4G is the "problem" in that many of the current phones do not support it and some that do won't operate on the latest frequencies obtained by Vodafone and O2 (the iPhone 5 being one that is EE and Three 4G compatible but not Vodafone or O2). Opting for a SIM + phone contract usually ties you for at least 12 months to one supplier. A 4G compatible phone purchased outright and a one month rolling contract SIM only deal gives you great flexibility.
2. Some phones from CPW network lock to the first SIM used in it, for example the iPhone 5. So even an outright purchase of an apparently "open" phone can cause hassle further down the line if you want to change networks. Other hight street stores with discount phones may have the same lock-in.0 -
If your looking at a three contract another thing to be aware of is some cpw samsung handsets (note 2, s3 etc) are not 4g versions unless they specificaly state it in the description so won't support the 4g rollout.
They do offer LTE 4g versions but at an extra cost. Handsets on the three site marked ultrafast are 4g compatable.0
