Just because it was not the answer you were looking for, does not make it wrong.charitycase wrote: »Thank you for that enlightening answer.I can afford anything that I want.

OP do you have anyone who can guarantee your payments?
What sort of payments should you be paying and what would you be proposing? How far into the agreement are you?
Are there any PPI or other insurances added onto the agreement?
Are there any faults with the car?
I think the charity organisation that will be helping me can guarantee the payments. I should be paying close to £135 a month, which is the agreement I had with Ford Credit.
I have informed them that I can pay £50 a month until I find a job, at which point I can increase the monthly amount.
No other insurances, PPI etc added to the agreement.
No faults with the car.
P.S. I appreciate your intelligence and patience in asking sensible questions.

Is that the amount originally agreed under the terms of the finance or a reduced payment that you subsequently agreed with Ford?0 -
I am trying to consider what would be fair in this instance and it's a bit tight tbh.
Is there any way that you can up the payment offer? Would the charity actually pay the money to the finance company for you? By this I mean you pay the charity but they pass it on ifswim because this could really alter things but I feel only if you could up your payment offer.
As things stand I am thinking the Judge might award possession back to Ford so they can sell it and reduce the debt you owe to them.
Did they follow the correct procedure ie default notice, termination notice and notice before action giving 7 days?Karma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000 -
Crikey OP, you really do live on Charity handouts.
Hsve you really had no luck at all in finding another job since losing your job in February 12?
Don't get me wrong, Charities do a great job, a couple I knew lost a child to Cerebal Palsy. A Charity cleared all their CC debts to relieve some pressure which I thought a wonderful gesture.
The Couple then hounded the Charity for more and more, then moved onto another charity for handouts.... I ended up feeling disgusted with them for their relentless, unnecessary sponging (their income was circa £60k).0 -

Thats just wrong although the charities should have had some backbone to say no more thats enough.0 -

Yes, they have followed the correct procedure. I cannot increase the payment offer since the charity is only giving me £150 a month, and I am planning to distribute the balance amongst other creditors.
The ONLY reason I want to keep the car is because it helps me in travelling to interviews (of which I have attended at least a dozen in the last year!), which are invariably more than a few hundred miles from my location, and train tickets are painfully unaffordable!
Not that any of that matters.
If I may ask one more question: If the finance company repossess the car, how long would they normally take to reduce the debt that I owe them? Would they wait till it has been auctioned off or will they use any guide prices such as Glass' ?
Again, many thanks for your reply.0 -
