If you have a savings account (as opposed to a current account) then nearly all of these accept BACS payments in, but they don't accept outgoing direct debits. The details you need to give are the sort code / account number and reference you would use to pay in to the account. These are the bank/building society's details, not your own, so the risk is almost nil.

    That's a great idea good thinking!:T

Your right I have learnt something !

And do u know what else ? I have also learned my abc's !

I am on FIRE today :j

Sadly, whilst learning his "abc's", he missed out on the punctuation lesson :(

Hope you get a response OP, don't use FB myself so I'm not totally sure but I too would be suspicious of a company asking for so many details. Good luck x

    Seriously? I mean......seriously?

You come from out of nowhere to join the conversation , to get in on the argument ?

    Pretty sad.

I don't want to argue with anyone. People on this board are meant to be friends with one another sharing an interest/hobby .

For me , this conversation is over .

LuckyOne - apologies if I came across in a bad light. BUT was just trying to get my point across.

OP - Hope you get the answer your looking for . Go with your GUT instinct !

I had a reply this morning saying they can only transfer money via my account.

I don't have a savings account where you can give a account number & let them pay into it.

    Oh well never mind xxx

Definitely a legitimate company and competition. I've had two loans with them in the past, which is how I found out about the competition, and won on Friday night. The money was in my account this morning. I'm not concerned about them doing anything 'dodgy' with my account details as they've had the information for a year anyway (since I got my first loan) and nothing's happened!

Legit company with a CCL and a data protection license as well. Reviews look fine. and anyways if you only give your bank details, they cannot do anything but give you money (don't give card details).

A bit of a late response but I won £20 on this too, I just emailed my name, account number and sort code (no address) and it was in my account within 2 days. I have not noticed any strange activity since. Did you claim it in the end?

I once phoned my bank and asked if it was ok to give out my sort code and account number as I had someone on eBay wanting to pay me that way and they told me it wad fine, they can't do anything with those details other than pay in. The thing you never give to someone you're not sure of is the last 3 digits on the back of your debit card. Maybe you could phone your bank to make sure this is still the case and put your mind at rest? :-) would be a shame to miss out
Thanks to everyone who posts the comps :A
