I got my blue badge before I applied for DLA - it was the chap in the council that told me to apply for DLA when I was handing in form for blue badge. I applied for it through their welfare rights advisors. I have mobility problems but didn't get mobility part - only the lower rate care as I can't cook meal.
I think the procedure to apply for blue badge depends on your local council. I got form through Social Work dept at ours - filled it in and asked doctor to fill in section. Once I handed it into the council I got the badge through within 4 days.MFW start figures - August 2010 - 65,303 O/P Aug 280 Sept 499 Oct 499 Nov 499 Dec 499 Jan 6205 Feb 444 March 444 April 444 May444 June444 July444

Most Cinema's will let the carer in for free if you have an exhibitors card ... Has saved us a fortune over last couple years

I was wondering - does anyone know if this also applies to the Gallery upgrade in Odeon? I ask as my partner needs to alter position quite regularly and the big seat in the gallery make this possible. He wouldn't be able to cope in the normal seats or the restricted seat size of a wheel chair.
Blimey if Gallery had the Carer go free (or even half price) we could afford to go to cinema for first time in nearly two years - plus the lattes are free and caffeine is what keeps me going! ;DIntegrity is a dying art!:p0 -

i should add i believe my mum gets DLA but no mobility and the taxi card comes ni handy for her as she doesnt always have access to a car0 -

Our local Odeon allows the carer to go free in the Gallery when the disabled person buys the Gallery ticket.I have the mind of a criminal genius. I keep it in the freezer next to Mother....0
