Sky account

I recently got in touch with Sky to reduce my tariff down getting rid of sky sports etc they also gave me £5 off my line rental to take my bill down to £48 as long as i agreed to extend by 12 months.
During the call the sales advisor told me that my bill for June would be £48 (plus any calls we make - 40p worth of calls made on my bill), I have been onto my sky account today to look at my next bill and it says that it will be £82 not the £48 I had expected. This is not down to calls or premium content just the packages I hold.
When I took this offer I had to sign up to a new 12 month contract with sky which I was fine with if it had been the £48 as agreed, I was wondering does anyone know if I have rights to cancel the contract now because I was told it would be £48 when I agree the extension?
Thanks in advance.

Your first month's bill will include any part-payments owed for Sky Sports etc, this would have been explained during your call.
I doubt you'll have any joy cancelling the twelve month extended term, you've already agreed it.0 -
How recently did you contact sky & how recent was the bill prepared?
Were there any changes to subscription channels (e.g any lost channels ) which would confirmt that the changes were actually actioned?0 -
Subscription channels \ services are paid for in advance.
Only Box Office, telephone calls & changes (save is downgrade, extra if increasing channels) are billed retrospectively - OP hints that was saving money - not increasing the cost..Moneyineptitude wrote: »Your first month's bill will include any part-payments owed for Sky Sports etc, this would have been explained during your call.

I upgraded at the beginning of this month, maybe around 5th.
My bill was prepared on the 18th, for payment on 1st.
My skysports subscription will finish at the end of this month, but I will have paid for this in advance.0 -

I doubt it also, feel a bit hard to done. Contacted them to reduce my costs as that is a major out going, agreed a price then to be charged nearly double leaves a bit of a sour taste.0 -
Give them a ring and let us know what they come back with...0

Use the online billing site to check the pdf which fully breaksdown what you have been charged by showing the 'Billing Period'
e.g. for Telephone mine shows
Sky Talk Line rental 21 May - 20 June £14.50
Sky Talk Line rental discount 21 May - 06 June -£7.40
Local calls £1.32
Sky Talk Total £8.42
I am on discounted line rental for 12 months which is about to end - and will be calling them up soon to see what they can offer or jump to bt, in the spirit of MSE...
Originally the OP says Saving Money, but then speaks of a upgrade.. they need to see what date ranges they have been billed for and if this doesnt match what they agreed to, deal with ASAP.. If they have upgraded then yes some of the charges will be backdated and so show higher..TerryPalmer wrote: »I upgraded at the beginning of this month, maybe around 5th.

Sky's billing is sometimes some of the most confusing to work out that I've ever come across. Especially when you upgrade or downgrade packages.0
