Monday 20 May - What small DFW things will you do today?
Comments

Morning all,
I am late posting today as I have been to meet a friend for a coffee (his treat ) and a FREE scone with our hot drink. Then he came over to fix a little job for me, I think the blank expression on my face when he tried to explain what I needed to do was a give away and he decided it was easier to do it himself !
I needed fuel again today, put £10 diesel in on Sunday but that only does me one trip to work and was on empty by the time I got home, I am also bad for driving around on fumes !
Put another £10 diesel in today, banking situation is dire, very tight and its half term next week so need to find things to do with teenage daughter that are not going to cost much!
I have a potential new lodger coming to look round tomorrow so I better do a bit of cleaning, and could do with a bunch of cheap flowers and maybe some tealights to brighten the room up a bit.
Off to visit my granddad for lunch with him soon and then another friend coming over for coffee at mine later.
The plan for tonight as a run as I feel tired, fat and bloated and generally yuck. Also better think about what to have for dinner, I have loads of food in but have not been organised enough to get anything out of the freezer !
Have a good day all
Much love

The chicken I did yesterday did dinner for us both last night, has made 4 portions of soup with a generous amount of meat & I have a little left over which I think I will put in a salad for lunch this week. Hi Pernicious - The chickens we get are usually from Co-op, & are about 1.4 to 1.5 kilos. I think it helps that we are both on a long term weight loss plan.....we've almost lost 10 stones between us over the last couple of years (hey, that means we should be using less petrol, lol...... ) This means that I do weigh out everything to make sure it falls within our calorie allowance. So for the fajhitas tonight, I do a big onion/garlic/chilli/red & yellow pepper mix with the fajhita spice, etc, but only throw in about 125g chicken for the two of us. That's because the tortilla wrap sticks another 120 or so cals onto the total & I aim to come in at around 400 to 450 cals max per main meal or I go over my daily allowance. So, while I do get a lot of meals out of a pretty standard size chicken, the dieting means I possibly do smaller portions of meat than many people would do? My partner is a big guy with a huge appetite, so psychologically, he needs his plate to look really full, even if it's bulked out with non-meat items!2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever
2) To read 100 books (36/100) 3) The Shrinking of Foxgloves 6.5kg/30kg

Wow just finished dinner, and I am so impressed with how tasty what was essentially a very basic and hardly meaty dish was. I made risotto with the following:
1 sausage
4 chicken wings
2 onions
1 green pepper
4 cloves of garlic
Salt & Pepper
Paprika
Basil
Water
A handful of cheddar to sprinkle.
Husband and I both ate two large platefuls, and it was really good. Probably less than 50g of meat in the whole thing (was a using up dinner) impressed!
