Had a good but strange few days here. Not sure if any of you remember from a couple of years ago but DHs sons hadn't had any contact with him since he and his wife split, it didn't matter what he tried to do they didn't seem to want to know. Out of the blue on Saturday he got a long letter from his eldest wanting to meet up and explaining why he hadn't been in touch. They are meeting up for the first time tomorrow evening at his and then he may be coming here at the weekend. The house is ok tidy wise (apart from the spare room which is still a dumping ground) and the garden hasn't seen a mower all year. I have never met his son and am quite anxious about that never mind making sure the house is ok. I got home today and cut the front grass, still need to edge it though. At least the house looks presentable from the front. Tomorrow I will make sure everywhere but the spare room is presentable and then Friday evening/Saturday I am going to try and do something with the spare room. If he doesn't come until Sunday then I am hoping this may be the kick we need to sort it. I would like to get the back grass cut too weather depending but it hurts my back so am needing to do it in small stages. It is all helping take my mind off the impending meet though.

There have been tears of joy however he is now just very nervous. Unfortunately their mum was very bitter so it was easier for his eldest son to not try to see his dad. I am not sure if and when his youngest son will want to make contact although I hope seeing his elder brother enjoy contact again will make him curious. His younger son also seems to have suffered a bit mentally possibly due to it all :( I am glad they are both adults as I am not ready, nor do I want to be a step mum.

Flying wise, dinner tonight is Sticky pork with jasmine rice and green beans and nectarines with meringues and ice cream for pud.

The rain has started so I am not sure anything else will be cut in the garden tonight, might try and edge the front though. Or I might iron as there is less of that :D

Aj~ hope all well, have you considered getting a local gardener in with a mower as a one off to take the pressure off you? it might be worth the money, to get it done while you do the spare room

Sorry for missing this week but been very busy doing 'stuff''.

    Hugs all round xx

Good evening all, hope all are well xx

Came home from work and went through DD's clothes drawers as she has had a pile of clean clothes with nowhere to go. After a good cull, all fitting clothes have a home. I then went down the shop for cakes for DD's last day in Brownies tomorrow. The ironic thing is, that I couldn't be dealing with the mess of making cakes with DD in the kitchen, so bought plain ones for her to decorate............kitchen has been cleaned 3 times anyway!!!

Dinner cooked and scoffed and dishes done.....with the help of DD :)

    List is looking like this..........
