Why do people use this shower?

Not really a choice for some as they will be the lenders choice to do the valuation.

We had a survey within 48 hours or surveyor being around - but I had to
chase the lender myself (was lucky to get a contact person details)
  • Wouldn't have used them if it was up to me, but it was the lender's choice.
  • More than a week after the survey was done, they've emailed me asking me to sign and return their terms and conditions. They never sent me their terms and conditions. I booked the survey more than a month ago and they're only chasing this now. So sick of this lot.

PS also worth mentioning that mine was a good survey in that there didn't appear to be much wrong, but I have definitely noticed things myself (damp patch in cupboard, and damage to bottom of wall which should have been noted, along with minor other things). I think he rushed writing up the report, and I think it missed several obvious things.

They did the survey on the house I bought before this one (in Brentwood) and it was extremely thorough. Never had one that detailed before, they didn't miss anything, and the house was only around 8 years old at the time.

They definitely vary in what they bother to write up/inspect!
