They might want to do an enhanced one if they want to check as this will show up any unspent convictions too.
I wouldnt worry, i have a criminal record from years ago and have had a few enhance CRB's and all my convictions came up, and my caution.
Just be honest and tell them you were a bit of a rebel back in the day, tbh unless it's fraud or dishonesty they wont use it agains you.
On the form it will tell you wether you have to declare 'spent' convictions, so if it does, just declare them and write a note if you feel it needs it.

How did the test go, aaroncaz?

Actually don't know what i was worring abt, cause i won't get the job, the maths test, was way to hard for me, but Lady there said that wasn't the most important aspect of the test!! So, you never know!!

Actually I rang NARCO, and they gave me some good advice, a letter to write, stating abt my criminal history and how it was a long time ago............ also, i went for a job recently, thought i had got it, didnt! but it was at a carpet showroom, and the boss said he was doing a 7 year criminal check, Narco told me this was illegal, theres NO 7 year check, and only if i'm working with kids or vulnerable adults, can he do this!! Feel like ringing him and telling him so!!

I dont think he's have the authority to do so tbh, enhanced checks show up EVERYTHING even convictions and cautions over 7 years, and i dont see why a carpet place would need to get an enhanced check.

Yes, I think you will get good advice and support from NACRO, there may even be a local group which supports ex-offenders, depending on where you live, and they can be quite useful in 'reminding' employers what they can and can't do! And in persuading employers to give people a chance.

Anyone seen the Dreams (the bed people) website. You can apply for jobs online - it's not a secure site and they ask whether you have a criminal record and if you want details. That's on page 2.
