I don't think anyone could disagree with that.

Locking people up and availability of guns could be different though. ;)

Maybe! Although those are 2 of my primary reasons for deciding not to emigrate to America, it doesn't put me off visiting - and to be honest I don't think it would for many other people either.

As I said earlier, America is such a big draw that most people can overlook its numerous flaws and still decide to visit!

Was at LAX in March/April it took longer both ways at Heathrow, so where's the problem!

No problem -the OP has a bee in his/her bonnet tis all.

I find the wait at Heathrow is always longer than the queue entering the US. No doubt the OP would advise I don't use UK airports :)

Indeed. Why should tourists spend their good money in our country if we treat them in this unpleasant way? Both the UK and the US need to get their act together and treat visitors in a reasonable way upon entry into their respective countries.

Well I guess we're all grown ups and decide what level of delay (which you've grossly exagerated-from my personal experience) is acceptable. Different people have different tolerance levels. For you the benefits of visiting the US don't outweight a short delay for others they do. So what ?
