Hi Closed.
Upgrading the Ram would be OK if under a tenner but this machine is only a temp usage. My usual one is pretty much faster but My house is under refurb. I have got this one up & running for someone else but I am using it for now.
Those measures have certainly brought the PC up to what I seem to remember was one time acceptable so thanks for all those suggestions. I will try some of them out on the Lappy.
Thanks for that.
Oh !!!!!!.
Read somewhere about removing the username (Run Username2 or something like that) and removed the username (Rose) and unticked the bit that says users must sign on??? (Something like that) and now am TOTALLY locked out.
Loks like its back to the lappy."Unhappiness is not knowing what we want, and killing ourselves to get it."Post Count: 4,111 Thanked 3,111 Times in 1,111 Posts (Actual figures as they once were))Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.0 -

Is it possible to change the username that was originally registered with this computer? The one that comes up at Log-on?
Or do I need to re-install windows for that?
Look here or here0 -
Best solution - gave it away on freecycle.
Not quick enough for me to warrant more time spent but it would've sufficed if it hadnt locked me out.
Back to the lappy (Which isn't so slow now that I've done similar maintainence).
