I have been recording all the winning ticket numbers on my and wifes investments since 2006. I have also recorded the new tickets issued as re-investments to my surprise NOT ONE of the prize tickets have ever won. Are we unlucky or does this highlight a failing in ERNIE.

Well that depends on the actual numbers involved. But presumably, unless you've had a large win, the total re-investments will be a fairly small proportion of the total investment, so will have a correspondingly lower chance of winning. Those re-investments will also have been in the draw for a shorter duration, which will similarly lessen their chances of being a winner.Stompa0

How many have you got?
Without that piece of information an answer is worthless.0 -
Ernie does not store the bond numbers more he just generates a load of random numbers.
Then these random numbers one by one are matched against each eligible bond. So the first match wins a visit from Agent Millions each month.0 -

On a max individual holding of £30,000, you might expect to get about £400 a year in small prizes, and that £400 might be expected to win another prize about once in 5 years.
When things only happen once in years, it's not hugely unlucky if they don't happen."It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. But it's no longer the individual banks that are in the wrong, it's the banking industry as a whole." - Steven Cooper, head of personal and business banking at Barclays, talking to Martin Lewis0 -
Don't read too much .... actually don't read anything into it.0
