Cutting down door to fit over new carpet

I have just had a new bedroom carpet fitted and this one has underlay too but the door now won't open. I asked the carpet fitter to remove the door and I have a jig saw. How difficult would it be to do it myself? any tips welcome.

Those are rising butt hinges, and you use them if the frame leans in to the room, or the floor slopes upwards away from the frame. I have some on two doors, as the screed floor is far from level. But the OP has solved the problem, which is good.
