Gilt yields going up, i.e. prices down...is that a cause or a correlation?

I have cast my bread upon the waters, and hope to see it again sometime - I hope it doesn't take too long, I want to crystallize some of my SIPP this year.

Speaking of crystal, if the ball had been in working order I might have done the SIPP a month ago.

Did you have a punt on any of the infrastructure stuff?

I have switched some bonds into First State. Working up (down?) to the ITs.

It all looks a bit red today. What's going on? Who is threatening what today? I

That reminds me. It seems odd the paranoia of the press to need to explain every drop and rise in the markets.

Today the UK manufacturing was not as good as expected.
In the last 48 hours it is clear that the Greeks cannot privatise their assets easily and will thus be back for more money soon
And Spanish banks announce they need more money in October
While the EU declares it will not bail out any further countries ;)
And Japan backs off further stimulus at the moment
And the Koreas cannot agree on who might turn up to talk let alone start talking :(
And England is still in shock at beating the Aus at cricket
and at least one forum member is selling shares in a Latvian gold mine
and Flock of sheep is nervous about Nat Grid ;)
    and it rained today

Is anyone surprised the market dropped???

Time for a cup of tea

I am having a cup of chai tea right now! Grizzly I am still not fully invested as I am still reading up. I've finished tims book and have been looking at the DIY investor site. Some of the infrastructure trusts are at a premium so unsure what to do about them

It all looks a bit red today. What's going on? Who is threatening what today? I have been ignoring things for several days. Is it all on the turn down?

Don't tell me it gotta be eith QE removal, Chinese mines, Chinese slow down or America saying something or the euro zone or a combination of any of those.
Once again, do you follow the markets? all you ever do it speculate and it is clear that this is mainly to do with BoJ and the fact they left the stimulus unchanged.

I have some additional money which would have been in by now had the markets not started moving a fortnight ago. Think I will sit tight for now.

    Does it matter?

Aren't we allowed to be inquisitive, debate and speculate in the learning process?

You can always place the posts on ignore if you want.
