this evening i was on a public bus - when suddenly the driver had to emergency stop due to a car pulling out in front
i was in the front seat with my lil 6 month babyin her baby seat
as the stop happened me n many other passengers where thrown forward - plus my small baby in her seat - withme twisting to cath her
the bus driver got into an argunent with the car driver but after a while he simply drove off - at this point with nymber plate to hand the bus driver contacte the police
i have been registered as one of the witnesses to the dangerius driving that took place
my biggest worry is my lil dd but she was aleep at the time and hopefully she looks ok si far - after the initial shock i hv calmed down but stilla lil in pain from the accident. i was wanting to attend an A and E but with a small baby i preferd going home and wait till the morning and maybe phone the doc ib the morning
wat i neeed to know is where do i stand?
thanks

I'm really not a sueing type of person but I would seek compensation if you feel the incident is worthy of it.
I experienced something similar 7 years ago. The bus was at a stop picking up passengers 6.30am. I was heavily pregnant at the time and on my way to work. I was sitting on the side of the bus above the wheel, when some drunk driver crashed directly where I was sitting throwing me right off my seat onto the opposite side. I was a witness, gave an interview etc. (But a drunk driver that time in the morning! He drove off too)
I was so shoken up though. I went to the nurse to get checked out. I started my maternity leave that day then as I was on edge going to work after that incident then. I wish I had put a compensation claim in (only for two months worth of pay as I left work two months before anticipated).
I did look into putting a claim in last year but believe I was too late.
It still erks me to this day that I had 2 months less with my DD on the other side of maternity leave. The day still puts shivers down my spine. very scary.99.9% of my posts include sarcasm!Touch my bum :money:Tesco - £1000 , Carpet - £20, Barclaycard - £50, HSBC - £50 + Car - £1700SAVED =£0Debts - £28500 -

that sounds terrible poor lil u
so did u have to go to court over it?
when u tried to go for compensation who did u contact and was it against the driver? (after the case) or at public transport company?Wins so far:

It was too late for me to claim compo. I was 19 when this happened and to be perfectly honest didn't know a whole lot about 'my rights' and compo and what not, so I lost out there. Apart from one statement to the police they never got back to me. Never found out what charge if any the drunk driver got either.
Had I have been able to take it further I would have gone after the drunk driver.99.9% of my posts include sarcasm!Touch my bum :money:Tesco - £1000 , Carpet - £20, Barclaycard - £50, HSBC - £50 + Car - £1700SAVED =£0Debts - £28500 -

Maybe the bus driver shouldn't have stopped ..And just crashed ?
Is that what you are saying he did wrong ?0 -

Its on considered damaging to a person if it actually caused damage to a person. What injuries have you suffered? how long did the hospital say you would be off work? sometimes youve just got to be sensible and realise s4it happens and thanfully you or your kid wernt really hurt.
And by the way its spelt little.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0 -
If everytime there was a minor knock people claimed for PI, I think the country would grind to a halt. I have lost count of the number of times I have suffered a bruise or minor strain, caused whilst travelling on public transport.
Get checked out and if there is a genuine lasting injury, then look into it further.
I have been travelling on bus, when a car crashed into the side of it. I don't know of anyone who made a claim, who was on the bus.The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -

Don't take any notice of the sermon preachers.
You are entitled to compensation for any suffering/pain/injury.
Speak to a personal injury solicitor (no win no fee) to discover what the proper advice is.0
