I have lost count of the number of times I have suffered a bruise or minor strain, caused whilst travelling on public transport......
Anyone a passenger on public transport involved in an incident should report to the driver/guard etc, and give personal details and get their details in case they do suffer any after effects following the event (eg whiplash often doesn't become apparent immediately etc).0 -
Ah yes, whiplash, the magic money tree for the opportunistic chancers of this world.0

So says the sage who has never experienced the pain of whiplash.
(Don't forget the OP was minding her own business as a paying passenger on a bus)0 -
I have been travelling on bus, when a car crashed into the side of it. I don't know of anyone who made a claim, who was on the bus.
Well in my case I was heavily pregnant, thrown the other side of the bus and ended up taking maternity leave early, which in itself had a knock on affect on my life.

Tough, as I don't like the compensation culture, which is partly responsible for driving up premiums. Each case on its own merits.
I repeat the advice to the OP " Get checked out and if there is a genuine lasting injury, then look into it further."The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -

Using MSE (money saving forum) is the wrong place to voice your opinion on the compensation culture.
As you have seen, one poster has had the strength to post how offensive your post is.
If you want to rant about the compensation culture there are appropriate places, the insurance forum isn't the place!
This forum is to offer help and advice, and people should be able to ask their questions without bible thumpers seizing on the opportunity for a sermon.0 -

No tough doesnt cut it for me.
Im not into the sueing culture either, however if im merrily minding my business on a bus on my way to work, HEAVILY PREGNANT, I dont want to be thrown off my seat by a drunk driver slamming into the side of the bus?
I HAD to start my maternity leave early which meant I had two months less with my child the other side. Had I known what I know now I would have sued the bloke. Dam right I would have. What right does that drunken !!!!!!! have to put me in a situation where I HAD to take maternity leave early.
Every action has a consequence, and your dismissive attitude just has no place in certain situations - like mine.99.9% of my posts include sarcasm!Touch my bum :money:Tesco - £1000 , Carpet - £20, Barclaycard - £50, HSBC - £50 + Car - £1700SAVED =£0Debts - £28500 -

Being angry about the accident 7 years ago, obviously meant you should have dealt with it at the time. If there was a medical issue with your child as a proveable direct consequence of this accident, you can still make a claim on their behalf, as I believe that such claims can be made up to 3 years after their 18th bithday. But I am no expert on legalities of PI claims.
All I am saying is that if people are genuinely injured in an accident caused by a third party, then they should deal with it. I have had whiplash injuries in a sporting accident and it was more painful than any broken bones I have suffered. It annoys me when I have heard of people exagerating their injuries to claim as much as they can.The comments I post are personal opinion. Yes I get that, I was watching Traffic Cops (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_btwD1O5Bo
) and 2 cars involved in a minor accident were out of the car shouting at eachother infront of the police, then as the ambulance pulls up they all jump into their cars and end up getting stretchered out, fire service taking the hood off the car and everything - SHOCKING!
Like I said, had I known then what I know now I would have claimed compensation, but I was young at the time, and simply did not know I could - I wouldnt have expected a windfall, JUST the 2 months pay for taking my maternity early. 7 years on and I remember that clear as day, from the crash, to arriving in work shaken, to being in the nurses office, the whole lot. It was very scary.99.9% of my posts include sarcasm!Touch my bum :money:Tesco - £1000 , Carpet - £20, Barclaycard - £50, HSBC - £50 + Car - £1700SAVED =£0Debts - £28500
