orange coverage

i have been with orange for a few years as they offered coverage in my area where some others didn't. i have just renewed my contract so are tied in for another 24 months.
everything was fine until about a week ago when the coverage was lost. i contacted orange who were aware of the problem and said the electricity company had cut through one of the cables. they said it would take up to 10 days which is soon approaching and have had no contact from orange.
what worries me is that i have heard from other people that the electricity company say this could go on for a number of months.
i have checked their website which has not been updated and says coverage in my area is good.
i was wondering where i stand with orange and if this continues can i cancel my contract.
many thanks

  • I don't think it will enable you to get lut of your agreement because there is a clause in the T&C's that state they cannot guarantee service particularly for factors outside of their control, as this is.

A lot of people wrongly assume that it is easy for them just to plonk another mast somewhere when it actually takes quite a lot of work. It involves site surveys, planning permission and engineers etc etc.

Are you getting signal in other areas?

I daresay if you complain, you might get a reduction in bill for a while but I cannot say how much.
