  • anyone make wreaths? I've got a huge holly bush in my garden and every year I consider making them for me and family (and maybe selling some) but haven't got around to it yet. Just wondered if anyone else had done this? x
  • i have made several types of wreaths and always used the double track metal floristry rings
this year i saw in pinterest someone using the foam pipe insulation tubes, into a circle, and taped together

managed to pick up another 6 jars of 20p mincemeat yesterday, i got some a couple of weeks ago, then they went up to £1.39 now they have moved onto a bottom shelf under the flours and are back down to 20p. definately worth looking for.

I do, you can either use the floristry oasis or look for wire/willow frame (Home Bargains have them). You can make your own willow frame quite easily. Once you have your frame you cut your holly, tap it (to get rid of any bug), rinse it and dry it. Then arrange on the frame, you need about an inch of stem to hold it.
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J

Great point about gift hampers not needing baskets - trays are a fab idea.

the cardboard fruit/veg boxes like the ones morries leave near the tills for your shopping can be covered with wrapping paper and would look great or the bags for life shoppers make nice reusable food hamper wrapping.

  • Hi all,

New to forum, have just spent the last few days reading through all the posts on this thread. There are so many good ideas and helpful tips. Thank you very much everyone for sharing! :T

This year I have cut back on everyone's budget as was spending far too much. Have been having a big clear out too so have earned a few ebay pounds which have been used to buy some presents.

Also planning on making lots of presents this year, have recently had a sewing lesson and have borrowed a machine - lots of ideas currently on the go - made the most of fabric cluttering up a box as well as ebay bargains!

Love the idea of Christmas Eve boxes - my twins are almost 2 so may plant the idea this year with a few bits and plan to stock it up for next year :)

Oh and I bought my stocking filler choc coins this week - 2 for £1 instead of 75p each in Tesco :)
