Remember that hampers don't need to be in baskets.

Food ones can be on a tray or in a fabric shopping bag (use card inside to stiffen the sides and bottom when arranging your goodies)

Gardening ones can be in a trug (Asda have small oval trugs for £1).

Car care can be put in a bucket or boot tidy.
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J

    Xmas Saver!
I use what ever is to hand for hampers, I've been known to cut the fronts off 2 cereal boxes, put them together, then cover that in wrapping paper.

charity shops, car boots, recycle packaging, - all goes. My baskets that I have got this yr found in a "2nd hand / car boot style little shop and paid either 25p or 50p for them. xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

Very good point that I often forget! I automatically think baskets!

Seeing as I work for a company that sells shoes, I'm sure I could nab a few boxes to take home. Might have a look tomorrow actually and ask if I can put some by!

I like the idea of the gardening trug, might keep and eye out for those. Need to go up to town this aft with littlest one so we're going in b£m to see if there are any bargains to be had.

Really just need a couple of stocking fillers for DS. DD has plenty already...

  • I love this thread! Thanks for all of the fab ideas. I'm going to introduce a Christmas Eve Hamper to my little girl this year :)
  • OMG - how good is this thread, love it. Great idea, I started saving for Christmas gifts at beginning of Sept. I've been saving all my Tesco clubcard points this year and started putting a little each week onto Tesco Christmas saver (every little counts I suppose). We've got 16 people (inc our little family of 4) round for lunch on christmas day so I'll be using this forum for advice and tips.

Defo going to introduce Christmas Eve hamper at home this year, sounds so lovely, my little girl (and husband) will love that x

Wilkinsons had their own Lego type stuff reduced today, got DS a little fire engine, racing car, and something else 88p each, think they were £1.75 originally so not expensive but nice to find a discount! Popped away as a stocking filler for him!

  • Popped into my local Mr T's and thought i'd look for the mincemeat everyone is talking about. They had loads of jars at 20p each. Robertsons brand, with a date of May 2016. I only bought 2 jars as i have 2 already in and it is only me who eats it, but worth checking instore is you want some.

It was in the baking isle on the bottom shelf.

I was just coming in here to say the same, I finally got some today in store, on the bottom shelf in the home baking aisle, only 3 jars left so I nabbed all 3, hopefully they will restock as the ones I picked up are good til Dec 2015 :j

if you search 'Christmas' on the johnlewis and m&s sites the Christmas shops are shaping up. Boots has a front page but little else of note at the mo.
