Strange eBay / Myhermes problem

  • I wonder sometimes about boxes shedding their labels and then I think of the recent telly prog when the couriers damaged boxes and flung them about like ragdolls. I think it is hard to believe the tale that they swapped labels but if they do, that's astonishing! I think they must have fiddled with boxes to check contents and then reseal them , what a bunch of crooks. Royal Mail arent allowed to tamper with mail .If something tears or is delabelled at RM, it is wrapped in a clear bag, damage is described, and the customer has an apology given .

When you use strong parcel tape it is hard to tear it off.

I can't help laughing after claiming from the 3rd party parcel people P4D I think they have a totally nice customer service and quickly sorted my claim .
Due to one of their couriers nicking an item ( they must have wrongly assumed was a brand new Dyson Ball vacuum cleaner.) What is was, was just the brand new outer box it was from the new Dyson ball model we got, inside the box was some old tatty spares or repairs Dyson ,I am so glad the thief who poached it got some rattly old horrid broken Dyson that was sold to a Dyson repairman! The man purchasing it as a repair job from me would have had to spend at least £80 to get it modified , so the couriers wife got a rotten present off her hubby that day :O
NB...People online who are here asking advice for "my friend" they really mean "myself"

From what I gather as far as Myhermes are concerned the item has been delivered.

So hermes, or their IT system, messed up and printed the same codes on two different orders leading to your parcel going missing and your buyer getting the wrong parcel?

If this is the case then myhermes can't hide behind the fact they have records of a parcel being delivered and claim it's the parcel.

Get pictures of the delivered item from the buyer then start a claim with myhermes for a lost parcel, include in the claim pictures of what you sent and what was delivered.

It may also be worth asking your buyer to wait a few days as their is a chance Hermes will deliver your parcel as well.
  • When you print off the labels from MyHermes, you also get a Delivery Note which you have to cut off and place inside the parcel. Presumably this is so that if the label goes missing there is a copy inside. Does your buyer have the correct Delivery Note?

I have used MyHermes recently and when I have printed off the labels, there has been no delivery note. Am I missing something here?

Yes I think you are missing something- the two items are printed on the same A4 sheet, it does not look possible to print a label without the bottom half being the despatch details.

Are you saying the bottom half of your paper is blank?

You set it up in "my account" to print either two bar code labels on an A4 sheet or one label and a delivery advice per sheet. The default is one label and a delivery advice per sheet.
If you only do one parcel and have it set for no delivery note then the bottom of the sheet is blank.

Sounds like the label has come off and Herpes have stuck it back on (the wrong, but maybe similar size parcel..)

Not sure how to proceed? Refund buyer would be good I guess.

Then get onto MyHerpes and issue a claim. Ask them how many collections they issued under the same "Van Drop" label number - this may track your item down/find the owner of the toolbox?

Sorry for not being constructive here, but your renaming of the courier really made me laugh!!
