I used to have a very unstable 3MB dowmload with copper broadband, which could drop down any time to 2MB or less.
I then decided to get fibre and with it had a speed of 35MB on a wired connection, which was very near what was expected, but with the wireless it only had around 8-9 MB, and could go down to 5MB at some points of the day. Some people suggested it was the Plusnet router provided that wasn't up to the job with wireless. So I accepted it as it's still was better than what I had before.
For some reason that I can't understand, after a few months my wireless broadband speed shot up to around 20MB, and had stayed there ever since. It can still varies a bit, but it is quite stable most of the time.
I still would like to know why the change in speed though, I find that quite bizarre, probably because I am more used to my speed crashing down than shooting up.:)

...POSSIBLY some one else near to you had overlapping wireless channels and has moved channels to eliminate their poor wireless performance =I certainly noticed a difference in performance when I stopped competing with my next door neighbour's BT Homehub!!:)

I don't know, maybe... One thing for sure, is that I for one won't be complaining about it :D

    Hi Robisere,

I'm sorry to hear of the problems you're having, but I'd need to check the line and do a couple of checks before I could advise on anything. Also I'm part of the same team who posts on here, our Community forums and also on Thinkbroadband so I'm not sure why you'd get a different response on here.

If you could post a ticket ID or perhaps link to your thread on our Community forums I'd be able to find your account, I'm afraid with the information you've posted all I can really say is that line conditions can and do change. Aside from that what with Fibre being a relatively new technology we're not fully sure how the DLM (dynamic line management) system based in the green box works, all we know is that it'll adjust your line speed according to the number of disconnections or errors it sees on the line.

I'd be more than happy to check things for you if I could take a look at your account, provided you're happy with that.

    Hope that helps,
