car insurance problem with named driver

Hello, I am soon to buy my first car. I was planning on putting my girlfriend who I live with as a named driver to reduce the cost by 300 quid. Problem is about a year ago she was in a car crash, it was not her fault as someone drove into her. She claimed off the other persons insurance as they admitted fault. Their insurance paid her for the repairs but my girlfriend did not tell her own insurance company she was in a car crash as she feared her premium would increase .
Now the problem is I am putting her as a named driver, but it asks if she has been in an accident whether or not it was her fault. It doesnt affect the price of my car insurance. But I have a feeling the her insurance company will find out she had a crash and her premiums will shoot up. On the other hand, if I just put down she has not been in a crash, and I were to claim of my insurance, they may find out she crashed and not paid up
She does not want me to put down she had a non-fault crash. So what should I do?
Thanks.

Advise her!
She is risking getting a future claim refused when her insurer discovers the truth.
You should tell your insurer the truth too (otherwise you risk the same penalty).0 -
Yes logic states that. But she begs to differ. hmm seems like im stuck.0

It's nothing to do with logic.
She has deliberately lied on her application.
This allows her insuer to void her policy.
In the event of a claim off a third party, they will pay the claim (if she is liable), then can come after her to reimburse them if they void her policy. Think ruin if she injures someone!
Dump her, she will cost you in time!0 -

Dump her? Jesus. I could just not put her as a named person and sorted.0 -
Yes you are "sorted", but who will end up suffering if she ends up maiming someone and getting the bill for all the compensation that has to be paid? Both of you.
(Assumed you weren't putting her on anyway as she can't be trusted to keep you informed of any future incidents she is involved in - any comebacks over her lies will affect your policy if you agree to her request to lie about her history)0 -
Well she will suffer not me. I don't give her my money. Seems easiest just to not put her on my policy.0

For her own sake she really needs to own up to her insurance company. If she does, problem solved and she can go on your insurance. If she doesn't, is there someone else you could add to lower your premiums? For example I have my parents insured on my car although they very rarely drive it.0

Yes I tried to convince her, but nothing. Maybe when her insurance has to be renewed she will see it doesn't make much difference to her policy. I have no one else. So seems like I have to get a smaller engine car, try reduce the premiums.0 -
If she needs to ever make a claim, her details will flag up from the last claim, they are all held on a national data base.
Non disclosure of previous accident will result in a voided claim.
They will pay the other party out, If indeed your gf is to blame but then chase your girlfriend for whatever they have paid out.
You maybe should show her this threadmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
So, If I were to add her to my insurance. Then I were to crash, they see I didn't disclose her non fault crash, they will void the insurance?0
