Nice area commuting to Liverpool st station

Chelmsford is only 35 minutes in and we now have city status. :-)0

Definitely North Chingford. Direct train to Liverpool St. in 25 minutes.0

Bishops Stortford, except walkable to station nice areas are rare. Warwick Road is attractive, traffic calm and walkable from back entrance of station, I was suprised at average prices there, expected worse

A colleague used to live there before and said it was nice but it's slightly further out and walking to station might be a problem too.0 -
Hertford was my 2nd choice if I'd not got the house in North Chingford. Careful with the stations though - one was rubbish for me time-wise. I think Hertford North was the better one.
With your budget, I'd be looking at these in North Chingford:

The trains from Hertford North don't go to Liverpool Street. The Hertford East trains do, but it is a very slow line so I wouldn't recommend it.0 -
WestminsterFaith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.0

Must be Moorgate they go into then. Really not very far to walk to Liv St so I wouldn't let that rule it out!
