    Who's Andy?

You could go to Uni and take a degree in The Many Faces of Andy. ;) His name was andyandflo and he claimed he was in his early 60s, and his wife a year or 2 older. He used to boast about the fortune they received in benefits each week - I think something in the region of £750. And he had 3 grown up daughters.

After posting some very inflammatory remarks about other posters, all went silent. Then one day, a post appeared, which began "Andy was my father". Apparently he'd killed himself, and his offspring posted that he/she was looking at his computer "to try and make some sense of what was going through Dad's mind".

At which point several posters were horrified, and then, bit by bit, one by one, the super sleuthers started to doubt the validity of the post.

Since then, many new posters (I forget all the names, but one was Rotoguys) have made uncannily similar claims about their life, family, benefit income etc, which led to the suspicious, but canny :cool:posters thinking the unthinkable!

Could this be Andy? And what about this one? You have to visualise Kirk Douglas in Spartacus, but in reverse. Instead of dozens of slaves standing up and saying I'm Spartacus! - imagine many new posters denying they are Andy, even though they had too many facts in common not to be. ;)

Occasionally he tries to change his stance completely. He'll say something like he'll be glad when PIP comes in, cos that'll deny all those who are claiming DLA, who haven't anything much wrong with them. Then on another thread, but under the same username (!) he'll post the opposite.

And yet, I found some of his posts very entertaining! No doubt some other posters will fill in any gaps, especially as to some of his many names. HTH

Having pain is a personal thing. So what is wrong with going for DLA? Many people I know on our estate have it for a lot less difficulties than I have. I would say that 20% of all cars on here are mobility ones. If you don't claim, you won't know if you are entitled. Besides which the Social Services are excellent at giving good reports to the jobcentre.

20% in a society with 6% of the population disabled and only 1% of disabled being entitled to higher rate mobility. Shocker!

DLA is a difficult one. I got the Social Services out to assess my wife. They put me in touch with the Welfare Rights from the council (they only deal with people that are referred to them by social services so it is a back door)

They did everything help filling the form out, getting all of the evidence for us - my wife was given high care.

I'm going to have them see if they can get me DLA as well. Have difficulties walking without being in pain. I would like the higher mobility if possible to get a mobility car. It's getting so expensive trying to keep a car on the road today.

We are keeping in touch with Social Services as we will need them when this PIP comes in.

    Thanks for replying,:grouphug:.
My Mother in Law is part of Social Services and she is pretty high up and has a lot of authority, maybe if she was to get involved, as she has seen how bad it is and how I struggle to work etc

Two brothers I know have NEVER had a job!!
They were on JSA but now have gone onto DLA as JSA was getting to much hassle for them to have to prove they had been seeking work.

They applied both received the higher rate, went to Mobility car shop and they both drove of the fore court together, parked their cars up in the street they live in and haven't moved since.
A total waste of time, and money!!
They walk to the betting off and the gambling places then sit all day gambling this money away!!
I am gutted I am struggling to stay in work I sleep on the sofa as I cannot get up stairs and the list goes on and on!

Their sister came up to me and my Sister bragging about them screwing the system and how proud she was of them; personally I am still gobsmacked!!

My Sister just said she doesn't agree with any of it, and that she (my sister) has two people in her family (me and my Dad have the same thing) and that we do actually need it as we are truly in agony on a daily basis :(
I also have some of what my Mum has and she can get it without a problem.

    There is no consistency!!
Do we think it is a fair system?

The problem is this. You were at one point known as AndyFlo or something so you were tagged with that name. You have of course used so many names after this but you fail to realise that you have a very unique posting style. It doesn't matter how much you try to vary it or whether you suddenly support or go against the poster, the true 'Andy' shows through everytime and is easily spotted.

We've had the "don't send any evidence with your ESA50" and also "send all evidence with your ESA50" and also your boasts of obtaining DLA so easily and then moans at PiP. I'm still not sure whether you're intentionally inflammatory or just mentally challenged due to having little better to do than try to upset people.

You're also well known on another forum for doing exactly the same thing. Not sure why you have this perverse desire to upset people but fear not, no matter how many times you create new accounts, you stand out like a beacon.

Someone said he (if it is "he") was turned down for benefits so wants to stop other people getting them. He certainly does seem to want to stir up prejudice against claimants -- as if that needed to be done... -- though stirring up prejudice against murderers, :D , is a new one

I don't know why either. He did once say he knew he needed help. He also once said he could be anything we wanted him to be (that thread was closed before I could tell him!) and gave us a list of his names. (He probably has at least one other one here currently.)

Silly old time waster. But he does upset some people, and MSE should track him down.

It's a funny old world, isn't it. It also seems that his/her supporters, join the forum at the same time. ;) I do find the "murderer brother, who took a man's eye out in prison" not up to his usual standard!

You do know that DLA is not an out of work benefit, right? You can get it regardless of your income and whether or not you're working (subject to having care and mobility needs) ?

You don't go onto DLA just because JSA is too much hassle to... I can't be arsed any more with this.

The "famous rock drummer on ESA" was more fun. But at least the bro's new.
