My OH has just had a letter from work, a parking ticket from the above company, that his work have paid! Now they want the money back out of his wages, where does he stand on this?

He stands the same as in this thread:

It was never their business to pay this FAKE parking ticket and he's not responsible to pay for their idiotic error in thinking it's a real PCN. In the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012, the action for a hire/lease/company to take to ensure that they are not liable is explained simply - and the law's been in force since October!
The company only had to give his name and address as driver and that would have given them zero liability and given him the choice to ignore the scam or appeal it.
He needs to tread carefully as it's his job of course - but refuse to accept the deduction and lodge it as an official grievance. Get Union help. This isn't a fine.
HTHPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Unless your OH's employment contract allows them do take money away like that, it would almost certainly be an unlawful deduction, and could land them in a lot of trouble.
The situation needs to be handled carefully, depending on the relationship he has with his employer. While they have made a big mistake in paying an invoice which was not really theirs to pay, and they should swallow their loss, how to convey that information to them is the hard part. In all likelihood, the company, or the fleet manager, has failed to understand the difference between a private invoice from a parking comapny and a proper council ticket. That's their problem, and should not be your OH's problem.
I could say a lot more, but read the referenced thread first.0 -

He has rang work, spoken to his boss and they won't take the money from his wages. He has told them in future to do as suggested in the above links, give them the owners infomation and leave it at that.

Good! That has now stopped the company EVER (under current law) being liable for a private 'PCN'!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
