Google Nexus 4 16 gig/Giffgaff Combo

My mobile phone contract finishes in a month or so and I have been looking at what is available. I originally was looking at the Galaxy S3, but I saw a Nexus 4 today up close and personal and it really looked the bizz. Fully loaded with features that I really like. Yes you cannot increase memory as there is no sd card slot, but I was looking at the 16gig one (there is also an 8gig one available) and I think that would be more than adequate for my purposes. I currently have a contract, but have recently discovered GiffGaff and I like the flexibility of it. You don't have a contract and you can increase and decrease or even postpone you usage. I have just looked at the GiffGaff website today and the tariffs appear very good. I particularly like the £7.50 p/m one. 200 minutes, unlimited texts and 250 mb of data per month. That is closer to the amount of usage I use. At the moment with my 3 contract, I under use my available minutes, texts and internet by a huge margin. I am effectively wasting money every month.
Yes you have to buy the handset up front then purchase the GiffGaff sim separately, but that looks to be a better option.
I have done a calculation based on the Nexus 4 16gig (£279) and the £7.50 per month GiffGaff sim and it comes out at £459 over 24 months.
With my original choice of handset (S3) the cheapest contract deal I could find was £504 over 24 months.
Has anyone else got a Nexus 4? It does look an excellent handset and has a really solid feel to it. And the fact that I can save money over the S3 contract which was the one that I initially wanted. Well on the face of it, it appears to be a no brainer.

I have 16GB Nexus 4. Can't fault it tbh and can thoroughly recommend it without any reservation whatsoever.

I haven't used Ovivo but I have done the switch from 3 to giffgaff and can thoroughly recommend it. Just remember that when you call 3 and ask for your code, they will connect you to the customer retention and the annoying dude will try to persuade you to stay. The quickest way to get out of that is to say "I know my rights, I have requested for the code and if you refuse to give it to me, I will contact Ofcom". That stops it on it's tracks, otherwise you'll listen to the guy go on and on (and lie to you) for a good ten minutes.

Now, Nexus 4 has many great features to it and price is not the least of them. Just keep in mind that a new Nexus is coming next fall which will likely be low priced as well. It should be launched at Google I/O in the coming days but as of yet it has not been announced.

If you can hold out, I would definitely wait to see what the announcements are as these will affect the prices. One rumour on Techradar states that Google might bring out Nexus 4 with 4G support and 32gb memory which traditionally means the 3G Nexus 4 will go down in price. As I'm a new member I can't post links to my messages but if you search for "Nexus 5 Google IO" you'll get plenty of hits.

I got a google nexus 16bg with 600 mins / 750 mb / unlim txt for £22 a month on mobiles dot co dot uk

However, you get £66 cash back through the site and £50 with quidco.

Brings the price down to £412 for the 24 month contract, or £17.17 a month.

    BARGAIN!
