My son has got himself into financial (and other!) trouble and I am trying to help him sort out. He has a 12 month contract with O2 (not sure how far in he is as he kept changing his tarriff) The last bill I saw was about £250 which he couldnt pay . Thye have now disconnected him but are obviously applying to his bank each month which gets rejected. This not only gets him £35 in bank cgarges each time but also gets added onto his bill. He has lost his job, cant claim benefits so has no money coming in. I have penned a letter to O2 telling them the situation and am hoping they will approve but suspect they may not, Any one had anything like this happen at all?

Your son should contact o2 himself. They will be fair and will look at what he can offer to pay, if anything. It's better if he contacts them sooner, rather than later, as it sounds like he is hiding from his problem.

Yeah just get him to call them and politely explain the situation. Many companies will understand and stop the contract.
Hope it all gets sorted out for you.
  • Even if o2 are not willing to terminate the contract early im very sure they will be able to downgrade the tariff to the lowest one possible. Also advise o2 of what is happening everytime they try to take a payment from his bank account, hopefully they will set something up to help your son so he is able to make these payments when he is able to afford them.

also tell your son if they try to take payment again , to cancel the DD with his bank...this will mean they wont be able to try taking money he doesnt have , and stop the bank being able to charge him the £35
James thinks worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do, but it doesn't get you anywhere

If i help you...Please thank me!
